Hello Friends, Well I know I've vanished for quite a while but since you're here and not looking for this site at gabrielscott.com You must already know a thing or two. The first of which is That I've been cmpletely focused on The Bleeder Project. Second is that this site has moved since you were probably last here. Well, alot has happened since my last posting on 4/28. All of which I will explain in detail later but the big news is that I will be performing live on Wed 10/22 at The Great American Music Hall in SF. The show starts at 8:00 pm and the headliner is Poet/Spokenword artist Saul Williams. Tickets are available through all major ticket outlets and through The Great American Music Hall box office. This is going to be a great show!! I'll see you there!
.

Hello, Thanks for being interested in what's going on. I have decided to try to update this page myself from now on, as close to once a week as possible. I hope you like the more 1 on 1 approach. So anyway, here's this weeks news.

(4/28/03)- Hello, Happy Monday. Well It's back into the studio tomorrow. Although, This time it's to record demos for a new project. This is essentially could turn out to be the next record but I can't guarantee it just yet. I can say that there have been some major developements in the last week or so. Unfortunately it's still too soon to tell you much more than... if you've been a fan of my music through the years then this new project should blow your mind. If you can imagine the best of Toy Oyster, Burning Orange, and The Final Days all at once, then you have a hint of what's to come. I am very, very excited about this. Things are shifting and changing daily. I assure you will know soon. Thats all for now. :)Gabriel

(4/21/03)-The show at The Red Devil Lounge here in SF (4/15) was a fun night. I donated nearly 50% of all procedes to Int'l A.N.S.W.E.R. and the peace movement. Thank You to all of you who came out for making that possible. I played some of the new material and some new versions of some of the favorites from "The Final Days...". For the first show I've played in a while, it went really well. The next show looks like possibly 5/30 at Club Galia again here in SF. Otherwise it's back into the studio for now. I am really shooting for fall for the release of my next CD. As of right now I'm thinking of calling it "In Circles". The title relates to several themes in the CD and realizations I'm having about life and growth. Any way, I was very happy with the response to the new songs the other night and will hopefully add some of the even newer material in soon. That's all for now.

Peace and Love

Gabriel

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Many people have been writing in asking why Gabriel hasn't been performing live lately. After returning from Japan, Gabriel decided to take some time off for the holidays, Before heading back into the studio to start recording some new tracks. New dates are being booked for a late winter/spring tour. This will no doubt include several warm up shows in his favorite venues around California. So keep your eyes open. It wont be long.

Toystaar Productions would like to thank everybody who helped make Gabriel Scott's much anticipated full length album "The Final Days of Gabriel" such a success in 2002. CDs are currently available through this and all Toystaar websites as well as for purchace ( at a discount ) direct at all live performances, and through MP3.com

Well , 2002 is going to be hard to top. What a year! With the release of the "Final Days of Gabriel". Live shows up and down the west coast, and the single "The Fall" being a surprise hit, Videos for "Song for Mary" and "Sinking", Live TV appearances, and so much more. But... Now the holidays are over and it's back to business here at Toystaar Productions. The Solo tour (affectionately dubbed "The Tiny Rooms Tour") will be heading back out onto the road in 2003 with a national tour. Were looking forward to getting back out there. The fans have been incredible, the venues have all been really wonderful, intimate and presonal, and exactly what Gabriel was hoping for. And now all of the fans who keep asking when Gabriel will be heading East, Well all we can say now is, very soon. We have just begun booking the tour for early summer and we will add the dates on the "Live" page as they are finalized. If you are one of the few left who don't already have your copy of "The Final Days..." just go back to the 'sounds' link at the top of page and it will take you right there. You can listen to all of the songs and can download many of them for free!! Especially if you only want that song but for virtually nothing you can own the entire cd. which is interactive, like all the cd's we've released through mp3. Or Just pick one up at the next live show. And don't forget there's new t-shirt designs available too. So if you dont have your Gabriel Scott merchandise yet now is the time . Hey everyone don't forget to tell all your friends to check us out and call your favorite radio stations and tell them you want to hear your favorite songs form Gabriel Scott!! In the Bay Area~ LIVE 105, KUSF, KALX, are a few that are considering adding Gabriel to the rotation, but we need to get on them to play it more.

The following is a list of bands or solo artists that I really believe are worth the trouble of the time and energy of checking them out. Some are national some are local and most if not all have websites where I'm sure you can find everything you need. As always please continue to support original live music.

"Blue Period"- SF based glam style rock band. Great live show. Lead singer Adrian is not only incredibly entertaining but very hot. Very few bands can rock like they can. Definitly worth seeing play live.

"Burke"- I love this band. Nobody could do what Burke does but Burke. Fronted by Burke Hilburn. Who in my opinion is one of the most original and interesting writers, singers, and performers I have seen. I have never seen a Burke show I didn't enjoy.

"Calexico"- I just found out about this band. All I can say is WOW! They mix an americana/roots type alt rock with latin horns and percussion. It's really interesting. Also, Great singer with a great voice, great songs and wonderful lyrics.

"Steven Cravis"- Solo Composer and Pianist. Largely in the New Age vein. Lush beautiful orchestrated peices to gentle melodic hooks. Stevens music covers a wide range of tastes and textures. If you appreciate gentle beautiful music please give it a listen.

"Essence"- I've only seen her once but she blew me away. Similar in style to some of the other women on the Lilith Fair. She mooved me in ways very few singers ever have. Her songs at times gave me the chills and brought tears to my eyes. She is a very very talented singer and songwriter.

"Faded"- Gothic 4ad'ish rock. Primarily the work of Jeremy True who wrote and played most of the record. He creates a beautiful wall of lush guitars and melodies. And although Jeremy also wrote much of the lyrics, vocalist Molly Petit's beautiful and haunting voice compliments the music perfectly.

"Pansy Division" This band is almost legendary! One of, if not the first all queer punk bands ever. They have been around for years, have a bunch of records out, and seem to be just getting better. Not only is there some really great songwriting but some great showmanship as well. Nothing but fun, and as far as sexy goes~ That Luis... mmm, mmm, mmmmm. Definately check this band out.

"Stymie and the Pimp Jones Luv Orchestra"- All original traditional style funk the way it's meant to be played. Great live show from the backup singers to the horn section to the band and Stymie himself. I've never seen so many sexy motherf#@!er's shaking their asses to Original live music in my life. If you want to dance and party and see a great show this is the band.

This is just a partial list as of now. I intend to expand upon this periodicaly, so please check back often and please check these bands out. Sincerely Gabriel
